The Blood Bank of Kidney Hospital & Lifeline Medical Institutions is a State & Central Government recognized blood bank (License No. 1815-B). It is one of the oldest licensed blood-bank of our city which has been catering to the needs of patients with an overall objective to deliver quality whole human blood & improving the safety of blood transfusion practice since 1997.
Here, most of the donations are on Replacement basis by the relatives / friends of the patients receiving blood within our hospital or outside hospitals. Also, volunteers often donate blood, especially at times when rare blood-group blood is needed. Blood donation is not at all hazardous. On the other hand it proves to be an incredibly healthy habit that helps blood renewal, lowers blood cholesterol levels thereby lowering risks of heart related diseases. Also, it simultaneously results in screening of blood for blood- transmissible diseases free of cost.
Blood Bank is located on first level inside Kidney Hospital & Lifeline Medical Institution’s premises next to the ICU & has provision for collection, storage & issuing Whole Blood round the clock.
